Sixteen years, one vision
Before you see what's new, know how it came to be. This is the story of S.Nine, told the way it was lived, one chapter at a time.
A New York showroom, a first collection, and a house finding its footing.
“How I started this journey was by asking how I want to create in this world, how I want my energy to move toward. Elevating a woman’s own presence, to walk her through the different moments of her life with the garments I create.”
Susanna Soo, Founder
The signatures take shape, the draped line, the invisible pocket, the trims drawn like architecture. A following grows around clothes made to be kept.
“Ten years in, the questions changed. Less how fast the house could grow, and more why it makes anything at all. I stopped chasing the numbers and started looking inward — into the core of what S.Nine stands for, and who it truly serves — and let what I found there reshape the work. The process is calmer now, more intentional, and I believe the women who wear S.Nine can feel it. Not a new direction — a deeper one.”
Susanna Soo, Founder
20+ collections released, and counting. Naissance en Fleur, this season, and La Sosie before it: proof the house keeps discovering itself rather than repeating.

Susanna Soo
Susanna Soo came to fashion the long way: designing websites in New York before designing for the body. She trained at Parsons, then sharpened her craft in two very different worlds — the studio of Diane von Furstenberg, and, after winning the Arts of Fashion prize, the Paris atelier of couturier Anne Valérie Hash. One gave her energy and grit; the other, refinement and effortless allure. In 2009 she founded S.Nine. The label took its first steps with a New York showroom and grew up in Hong Kong — a decade on Hollywood Road, fashion shows, collaborations, and clients who became friends — while showcasing in New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore and beyond.
Sixteen years in, the journey has shaped more than her craft — it has brought ease and intention to how she works. The joy, she has learned, is in the making and the sharing. Through it all, she keeps her why close — it comes from self-inquiry, and from the incredible women in her life, first and foremost her mother, whose power suits taught a young Susanna that a garment could elevate a woman’s entire energy. That spirit runs through every S.Nine collection: clean lines, premium fabrics, and genuine consideration for functionality and versatility, finished with a touch of the designer’s own poetic mind. Whether ready-to-wear or made-to-measure, the result is clothing for a woman like her muse — strong, kind, with a creative and quietly magnetic spirit — designed to work in her real life, and to lift it.
About S.Nine
S.Nine is a womenswear label built on modern tailoring and artisanal craft. Each collection begins with a story — a painting, a heroine, a season of a woman’s life — and ends in pieces meant to be worn, not just seen: clean lines, premium fabrics, silhouettes that carry from day into evening. The intent has never changed since 2009 — clothes that hold a woman’s elegance and strength, and never compete with her.
Susanna Soo Atelier
The Atelier is the most intimate side of the house: evening gowns for life’s great occasions — celebrations, galas, and weddings. Each gown is made-to-measure, shaped around one woman, her body, and her moment, with full bespoke service available by inquiry. It is work Susanna considers an honour — to dress someone for the most important day of her life — and it is done the old way: in fittings, in conversation, one piece at a time.
